Carpentry skills - an employment option for children & young people with learning disability

Mexico Child Link established a successful carpentry workshop in 2001 in Tenextepec, Atlixco.
The beneficiaries are children with learning disabilities and children from the local community who are most in need. As well as carpentry training, the workshop provided an opportunity for the integration of young people with learning disabilities into the local community. To date, the children have made benches, photograph frames, bookcases, small tables, casette holders and Christmas decorations

Money raised has been used to buy further materials. Three members of staff attended a weekly training session with the Carpentry Skills Trainer to enable them to act as workshop helpers. children and young people are very enthusiastic about the workshop and proud of their finished articles.

Make a donation - help maintain the carpentry workshop.

Latest News: The carpentry workshop is currently inactive due to lack of funding for the salary of a carpentry trainer.
